Odd news from around the world

Mother comes into her bathroom to find her toddler son has dumped an entire bag of dog biscuits into the toilet bowl: “A mother comes into the bathroom to discover her son has dumped an entire bag of dog food down the toilet but toddler Blake does not seem upset by his actions. Completely baffled by her sons behaviour she asks her toddler: ‘have you put the entire contents down the toilet? Oh my God, how on earth are we going to get them out?’ Blake does not seem too perturbed by his actions and, despite saying ‘whoops’ a few times, continues to rattle the dog biscuit bag over the bowl. She is heard in the background saying, ‘I really don’t want to clean that up’ and ‘daddy can sort that out later’. Luckily the family dog then arrives in the bathroom and helps out by leaning his head into the makeshift dog bowl and starting to eat”

The Health Benefits of Drinking Hot Water: “Drinking water is one the best favors you can do to your body. It has surprising health benefits such as strong kidneys, more energy, better mood, and lower cholesterol. Hot water only adds to the long list of reasons why water should be a staple in your diet with several exclusive reliefs. When it comes to H2O, most people prefer it cold. They may be doing a disservice to themselves. Iced water may help boost your metabolism a little bit, but it won’t help with cramps or constipation. Warm water increases the narrowing of the intestines, which enhances elimination. Regular consumption helps with digestion, whereas cold water only worsens it; it’s the perfect natural body detoxifier; helps your hair glow and grow; and lowers the risk of skin and other infections”

Customer of Australian phone company hit with apparent $170,000 outstanding debt: “A Telstra customer attempting to port his phone number to an alternative provider was told he could not do so until an outstanding amount of $170,000 is paid. “I tried to port my Telstra phone number over to Vodafone, but I was advised the number could not be processed due to the existence of a bad credit rating and number block against me, by Telstra,” Mr Clode said. “There was no explanation. All my bills in my online account were up to date and I have never been contacted by Telstra or the credit reporting agency. A spokesman for Telstra told Fairfax Media “initial investigations have not been able to identify any outstanding debt, and we are looking further into what has occurred.”

Man who squeezed spot above eye almost loses sight: “A man has told how he almost lost his sight after squeezing a spot above his eye. Harmless-looking pimples can actually provide germs with a gateway into the body when squeezed. Germs living on the surface – such as those which cause MRSA – can even cause blindness, as one Reddit user recently discovered. “I had a pimple in my eyebrow that was annoying me and I decided to squeeze it,” wrote Class0naught. “This seemed to work at the time, but the next day it had grown back twice as big. “Turns out by squeezing the pimple I forced the infection deeper and ended up with periorbital cellulitis. If I had left it much longer it could have spread to the orbit and blinded me. He quickly realised how serious the pimple was when arrived at the hospital and medical staff “freaked” and hooked him up to an IV drip of antibiotics. By squeezing the pimple, he had pushed MRSA inside his body and into the skin around his eye”

Australian man who kept daughter’s sext messages as punishment convicted of possessing child porn: “A MAN has been convicted with possessing child pornography, and placed on the sex offenders register after he kept nude photographs of his stepdaughter that she had sent to her boyfriend because he wanted police and her school to take action. Victorian man Ashan Ortell, 57, said he only kept the images so that he could report his then 15-year-old stepdaughter to police for sending sext messages to her boyfriend. But after ignoring advice from officers to delete the pictures — who advised that keeping them was an offence — the man was arrested and charged. Mr Ortell was sentenced to a 12-month good behaviour bond for copying 18 images onto a computer and USB drive. He decided to keep the images sent by his stepdaughter, by copying 18 pictures to a USB and computer in a bid to get police to investigate the matter further”
