Stay sharp in retirement!

As we slowly move through (or into) retirement, we need to keep ourselves occupied with small projects . . . like this guy!

But – please! For your sake and others you love, be careful!

I know, I saw it right away too:

No safety glasses or hearing protection.

And I caught something else that is really important:

He has no gloves on.

I might be up in age, but I am still sharp as a tack!

Stay sharp, my friend ! Stay sharp?

Odd news from around the world

A bad case of imaginitis: “An eagle-eyed viewer watching the BBC’s EU referendum coverage has spotted a door at an election count that he says looks like Hitler. Darren Haines took to Twitter with a screen grab of a reporter giving a piece to camera from a referendum count in Falkirk. In the background people could be seen counting the ballot papers at the Grangemouth Sports Centre. But in the right-hand corner of the screen, he pointed out that a set of double doors leading to and from the sports hall looked exactly like the Nazi leader. Captioning the picture he wrote: ‘There is a door in Falkirk that looks like Hitler #bbcreferendum.’ And after posting the tweet, others were quick to point out the likeness of the door to the Fuhrer. Meanwhile other reporters covering the count in Falkirk were quick to snap selfies next to the door”

Iranian ‘Hulk’ who is 24 stone of near solid muscle: “A huge weightlifter has been dubbed the Iranian Hulk after astounding social media with his sheer physical size. Sajad Gharibi, 24, from Iran, is said to weigh almost 24 and a half stone [340lb] and almost all of it is muscle. The giant man with a fierce expression has a following of over 59,000 followers on Instagram where he posts about what he does best – weightlifting. But his Instagram account doesn’t feature the type of food and workout posts most weightlifters and workout obsessives share, instead it displays an array of gobsmacking topless photos of himself and unpretentious pictures of him going about his day to day life. He can lift up to 175 kilogrammes (386 lbs), which is more than he weighs and he takes part in the powerlifting category of competitions. He has also participated in bodybuilding competitions representing his country.

Rare baby tree kangaroo: “Footage from Perth Zoo shows a baby tree kangaroo poking its head out of its mother’s pouch. He flips his tail and pops his head in and out of his mothers’ pouch while she eats a stick of broccoli, seemingly uninterested in the zookeepers cooing in the background. Six-month-old Mian is the first tree kangaroo to be born at the zoo in 36 years. The species is hugely endangered and his birth makes him one of only 15 males in the global species management program. Danielle Henry from Perth Zoo told Daily Mail Australia that while the tree kangaroo and the standard red kangaroo were similar in their anatomy, the two were very different on the outside. ‘They are much more capable with their hands, they can climb trees,’ she said. The region in Papua New Guinea they come from, there are no monkey or primate species. Ms Henry said the tree kangaroo was an agile and durable animal that could also drop from great heights to the ground without injuring themselves.

Heavily-pregnant woman was saved by her breast implants when her boyfriend tried to stab her to death: “A businessman who tried to murder his pregnant partner in the street was today jailed for 18 years after a court heard he was ‘tipped over the edge’ because his mother was angry about him dating a non-Muslim. He stabbed Natalie Queiroz, 40, with a large carving knife in her chest and stomach before trying to slash her throat and wrists. The court heard that her £5,000 breast implants probably saved her life by getting in the way of the knife. Five people wrestled him to the ground but he broke free and tried to slash the woman’s throat and wrists before he was eventually arrested when one bystander flagged down a passing police patrol car”

Suction cup fixes dents: “A video has surfaced online which shows a French woman demonstrating how a sex toy can be transformed into a tool to fix dents and scrapes on vehicles. And rather astonishingly, her novel method actually works. The woman in the video – believed to have been filmed in France – can be heard talking to a man as she surveys the damage on the side of her car. The woman uses a suction cup, moving it over each dent in the car before pulling it away to try and smooth out all the side of the vehicle. Demonstrating she evidently has no need for a mechanic, the woman can be heard saying to her companion, ‘it’s all good’, when she has finished carrying out the repairs and demonstrating the usefulness of the tool.
